CAMP VIDDLE RECIPIES:

Dutch Oven Cornbread

Ingredients

2 c self rising yellow cornmeal

1 c self rising flour

1 egg

1 c milk

2 Tbls oil

**additional milk to make batter pour


 

 

COOK'N IT

 

Prepare 24 charcoals

In mixin bowl, mix cornmeal,flour,egg and milk. Add additional milk to allow batter to pour from mixin bowl. Heat the 2 Tbs of oil in bottom of dutch oven until bubblin. Pour batter over hot oil. Cover with dutch oven lid. 

With 8 charcoal briquets on bottom and 16 charcoal briquets on top of Dutch oven, bake until golden brown,approx. 20 min,until knife inserted comes out clean. Serve with your favorite vittles. For a twist add whole kernel corn and/or jalepenos to the batter.
